Note the “Gibraltar” cuff title sewn to his lower right sleeve.
He wore the full medal bar as well as other German and foreign orders he obtained. His medal bar included the Order of the Red Eagle 3rd class with bow, Order of the Red Eagle 4th class in combat ribbon with crown, Prussian officers’ Long Service Award, 1870/71 Campaign medal with four clasps, Wilhelm I Centenary Medal, Hessian Military Merit Cross, Hessian Order of Philip the Magnanimous knight’s cross, Italian Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus 3rd class, Italian Order Of The Crown officer’s cross, Dutch Order of Orange-Nassau officer’s cross and the Order of the Star of Romania officer’s cross. His neck awards included the Prussian Order of St. John, Prussian Order of the Crown 2nd class, Brunswick House Order of Henry the Lion Commander 1st class, Hessian Order of Philip the Magnanimous Commander 2nd class, K.u.k Order of Franz Josef Commander's cross, and the Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure 3rd class. An officer’s cross of the Saxony Albert Order and a cloth badge of the Prussian Order of St. John can be spotted in the lower area of his left breast. He reached the rank of Generalleutnant.
