Veteran: assigned to the 22nd company of the 334th Infantry Regiment, joined the armies on August 24, 1914. Assigned to the 21st Company during the restructuring of the regiment. Promoted to Corporal on June 1, 1915. Wounded on the Chemin des Dames in May 1917; discharged and declared unfit for infantry, he was assigned to the Heavy Artillery.
On June 21, 1917, he joined his corps in Dijon and assigned to the 61st Reserve Battery of the 108th RAL.
Joined the armies on July 20, 1918 then assigned to the 107th RAL on July 22.
On November 13, 1918, after the armistice, he was assigned to the 101st RAL then demobilized on March 16, 1919.
Retires to Loché.

The brigadier was finally released from his military service in October 1932.
