"Rully, October 5th
My Dear Brother
It's been a long time since I've heard from you, but despite that, I think you're still in good health. As for me, I'd say things are still going fairly well, but I think we'll be leaving Rully soon.
We're all ready to go, and our departure is set for the 10th of this month. I believe we'll be heading towards Toul. I was on 48 hours' leave these past few days, and the whole family is healthy.
I send you my love with all my heart.
Your Brother, who's thinking of you,
Bertrand, Corporal
134th, 1st Company
Rully, Saône-et-Loire"
