Portrait of Peyo López Gracia of the 36th Infantry Regiment during his military service before the Civil War. He was native of the small village of Velascálvaro (Valladolid). During the war he was promoted to corporal in the National Army and wrote quite a few poems of religious and nationalistic content, he participated in the Asturian Campaign of Asturias (1937) and the Ebro Battle, concretely in the Sector of the Valley of the Cinca (1/1/1938-31/12/1938). He was killed in that action around November, and was postumly awarded the War Merit Cross in Red Distinctive and a mention. He is buried in the Military Cemetery of Teruel.
