Group photo of Peyo López Gracia (Right) of the 31th Infantry Regiment "Burgos" (the 36th regiment was renamed after the coup to its pre republican name) near the Somiedo Pass (Asturias). He was native of the small village of Velascálvaro (Valladolid). During the war he was promoted to corporal in the National Army and wrote quite a few poems of religious and nationalistic content, he participated in the Asturian Campaign of Asturias (1937) and the Ebro Battle, concretely in the Sector of the Valley of the Cinca (1/1/1938-31/12/1938). He was killed in that action around November, and was postumly awarded the War Merit Cross in Red Distinctive and a mention. He is buried in the Military Cemetery of Teruel. We can read : " To my dear Cousin María Rodríguez native of Velascálvaro , In signal of affection and send you this photography of me with two friends I made during the campaign". Photo taken in the Somiedo Pass during the Offensive of Asturias, 26th September 1937.
