He wore the prewar black trousers and a service cap. The single litzen collar patches were used by all 9 Prussian line grenadier regiments. The leutnant was probably from the Grenadier-Regiment “König Friedrich I” (4. Ostpreußisches) Nr. 5 or the Grenadier-Regiment “König Friedrich III” (2. Schlesisches) Nr. 11, seeing from the shape of monogram on his shoulder boards. The photo was taken in May 1916.
