The leutnant dressed in frock coat, photographed in Regensburg February 1904. The 1886 type frock coat for Bavarian infantry officers was made from light blue cloth, two rows of buttons with seven buttons each and the red piping down the front differed slightly from the commonly seen Prussian model. The Leutnant wore trousers in the same colour as the frock. Lastly, note his bespoke sabre and the typical Bavarian sword knot.
